A poster idea I've been working on for a charity coffee house event. It would've sat at the the entrance of the Town art center yesterday, but seeing how it got CANCELED at the last minute, it's now just another image in my gallery. :x

Ugh! and I spent all Thursday -sick!- working on it, too...
Sigh, sigh, woe, woe, c'est la vie pour moi.

Anyway, I still like the way this came out.
Inspired by the morning sun, which I would have never seen if I wasn't out sick :)

Hummingbird reference pictures used from the Nat. Geo's January '07 issue.
Beautified by =resurgere 's lovely textures.
note: the image might or might not look dark on your monitor, but that's cause I set mine to blind-your-eyes-bright.

I just fell in love with the concept of The Morning Cup by ~CopperHeart the moment I saw it! The reflection of the humming bird really caught me.

The second I saw it on the front page, I knew it was going to be amazing. And I was right. I love the style of painting you used, and the rich tones and many different colors. I love all the leaves and the hummingbird is just adorable!!

I'm totally in love with this picture. I think it actually cominbes everything I think a design should have, with nice fluid colouring along with twists and turns in reality (the teapot, the pool of water in the flower and the thick outlining). It also has the real attention to detail on the hummingbird... fantastical and full of imagination with a good eye for detail where its needed... DD indeed.
